  • 7th – The ANU EMS’ faculty ensemble, HMM, presented a set of new and improvised works featuring early instruments and live electronics at the Drill Hall Gallery as part of the COLOUR MUSIC exhibition

  • 5th-9th – I was the resident double bassist at the ANU Winter Jazz Festival, performing with local and guest artists including Miroslav Bukovsky, Mike Price, Mark Sutton, Wayne Kelly, Trish Delaney-Brown and Christian Howes
  • 21st and 22nd – Double bassist in the ANU production of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo (1607)
  • 30th – The ANU Composition Studio featured three student presentations on their works as part of ANU Open Day
  • 30th – The ANU Experimental Music Studio presented a one-hour set of new music as part of ANU Open Day
  • 31st – The ANU Experimental Music Studio performed a set of new and improvised works as part of the Drill Hall Gallery’s COLOUR MUSIC exhibition

  • 5th – Mabel Kwan and Jesse Langen of Chicago-based supergroup, Ensemble Dal Niente, performed Emmy Noether (2013) for piano and electric guitar, written for them last year. 7:30pm at Musical Offering in Evanston, IL 
  • 24th – I performed at Smith’s Alternative Bookshop in Canberra, with local saxophonist, and colleague at ANU, John Mackey – free jazz improvisation

June 2014

  • I performed (double bass) as part of a tribute to the Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley album at Smith’s Alternative Bookshop in Canberra
  • Premiere of Percussion Ensemble (2010) given in Canberra by Uncut Percussion and the ANU New Music Ensemble
  • An arrangement of mine of a traditional Klezmer melody was premiered by the Foster Quintet (a youth ensemble, part of the ANU Open School of Music) at a Gala concert at the Hungarian Embassy in Canberra

  • Presentation on the history of avant-garde composition given to the Creative Arts Learning Community at the Australian National University
